The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office has hosted several “Common Sense Fraud Prevention” seminars to educate the public about the dangers of fraud and how to recognize and avoid scams aimed at senior citizens.

The seminar highlights the common sources of fraud – telephone; computer and e-mail; door to door and mail – as well as tips to recognize a scam and protect yourself from becoming a victim. Anybody can be a victim of fraud or scams, however, senior citizens are targeted the most.  Sharing information is key to helping reduce the number of victims.
